The Hatchery
Chickens, Ducks Guinea Fowl and Eggs
We have fertilized and fresh chilled eggs available from our free-range, pastured chickens
beginning in March and ending in October.
We hatch chicks regularly Spring through Summer and offer a straight run of
Blackmon's Barnyard Blend of Brahma-cross, Ameraucana-cross and other mixed breeds in a variety of colors for a flock like no other, or
Blackmon's Funky Flock of Polish-crosses with crests in a variety of colors.
We also have a limited number of roosters each year for flock or freezer and
purebred Polish, Brahma, Black Copper Maran, and Lavender Orpington roosters to add to your flock.
Our chickens are unvaccinated and anti-biotic free.
Our chicks are raised on starter/grower crumble that includes amprolium to help prevent coccidiosis; amprolium is not an antibiotic and is not affected by the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD)
Hens begin laying at 16-22 weeks of age (up to 28 weeks for Brahmas) and egg production slows in winter.

We will have chicks available beginning March, 2026.
Blackmon's Barnyard Blend
Mixed breed of Brahmas, Ameraucanas, Polish, Black Copper Marans, Lavender Orpingtons and other heavy breeds.
Straight run of many different colored chicks including blue and Lavender.
Chicks 1-3 weeks are $8 ea. with a minimum of 5 or 10 for $75.
Chicks 4-7 weeks are $10 ea. with a minimum of 5 or 10 for $90.
Pullets and Cockerels 8-12 weeks are $12.50 ea. with a minimum of 4 or 10 for $120.
Mixed-breed Hens (13 weeks to a year) are $20 each with a minimum of 4.
Mixed-breed Roosters (13 weeks to a year) are $15.00 each or 10 for $125.
Purebred Polish (buff-laced, silver-laced, gold-laced or white) and Lavender Orpington roosters are $30 each.
Purebred Brahma roosters starting at $30 each.
Black Copper Maran roosters are $60 each.
We occasionally have Guinea keets available throughout the year.
Please contact us on availability of Guinea keets and fertilized eggs to hatch in your incubator or under your broody hen.
We enjoy hatching our Barnyard Blend because you never know what beautiful and unusual chicks you'll get.
We will also hatch a limited number of purebred Brahma, Ameraucana, Polish, Black Copper Maran, and Lavender Orpington chicks.
We have a variety of docile breeds including Brahmas, Polish, Ameraucana, Black Copper Maran, Lavender Orpington, and others that combine to offer a colorful flock of docile roosters and broody hens producing a variety of colored eggs.
Hens should begin laying white, tan, pink, blue, chocolate brown, and tan-brown ombre eggs at 16-22 weeks of age.

Brahma Roosters
Starting at $30 each
Brahma Roosters are one of the largest breeds of chickens and considered the teddy bear of chickens.
Roosters will be available Summer, 2026.
Buff, Blue-Buff, Splash-Buff, Light, Blue-Light, Splash-Light, Dark, Blue-Dark, Partridge, Blue-Partridge, and Lemon Pyle.
